Austin-owner/barber
After working retail most of his early 20's, Austin, decided it was time for a change. Always loving the feeling a fresh haircut and the vibe he felt from the local barbershop he felt like a that was a step in the right direction. So in 2012 he signed up for school at real barber college in Anaheim and fell in love with the craft and the brotherhood of barbering. After graduating and completing his state board testing he quickly got a job at surf city barber, the neighborhood barbershop. While working there in 2018 he met his future wife, Kelsey, at a friend’s wedding. Kelsey being a Santa Cruz native was looking to stay in Santa Cruz, so Austin moved here and started working at the shop Waves & fades. After several years of working there the opportunity arises for him to open his own shop, which has always been his dream. Making the places tailored to how he love a shop to be and clients would love to be in. A man cave away from home, a place to have a drink , play some games, watch a game or just hang out and catch up. That dream has now come to true in The Parlor and he looks forward to seeing you if it just to stop by and say hi or to get that fresh cut he always enjoyed getting himself.

Mickey Guerrero born and raised in Sacramento, moved to Santa Cruz in 2017 to pursue new business endeavors in his creative industry. His biggest passion is bringing fresh fades to all hair types and textures, complete with razor finishes. He continues to grow in his education by staying current with trends and products through networking and research.
